Charity and community outreach

Show up for Swansea, and for the student who needs the bag of rice.

The outreach programme is how ACS gives time and essentials. It is also how a student can receive help without becoming the photograph.

Give time

A morning with a local partner. Clear meeting point, a debrief, and no mystery about what you are walking into.

Give items

Staples and toiletries for the food and essentials drive. Unopened, in date, and ordinary.

Receive quietly

If you need the food, you can take it. No speech, no means test in public, no tagged photo.

Food and Essentials Support Drive

Purpose. Keep cupboards from going empty between student finance payments and family support.

Who it helps. ACS students who need items, and the wider student community when the committee opens a drive.

What you can expect. A collection point and a discreet handover. If the need is bigger than a bag of food, we also point you to SU Advice.

How to get involved. Donate at the next date, tell the welfare officer what you need, or suggest a cause in the suggestion box.

Choosing causes

The committee picks partners the society can actually help: local food support, community groups, and student-led ideas. Bright Network and BYP Network already walk with ACS on careers. Outreach is the neighbourly work beside that. Suggestions are welcome. So is “please not another one-off photo”.

Volunteer

Tell us if you can carry boxes, welcome people, design a poster, or connect ACS to a Swansea group you already trust.
